SMALL MAMMELS: Small furry friends such as rabbits, ferrets, mice, rats,  guinea pigs, hamsters, and sugar gliders can be fun as pets. Like dogs and cats, these little creatures need health care and proper environments to thrive.

Yearly exams are important to go over physical health and to assess diet and husbandry. Proper diet and nutrition play a huge part in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Moore Animal hospital now provides full health exams for these types of pets.

Your small mammal will receive a complete physical exam, as well as consultation in regards to their diet and environment. Some of these animals, like ferrets, also need yearly vaccinations. We also provide other services such a medical care, surgery, and bloodwork for all small mammals. In addition, we also offer elective surgical procedures such as spaying and neutering. It is recommended to spay or neuter rabbits especially to prevent health problems such as uterine and prostate cancers.

BIRDS: Birds are wonderful pets that can live for many long years. They are intelligent, and sociable creatures that are also very good at hiding their illness.

It is therefore very important to have annual check-ups and a baseline blood work on file. Having a normal, baseline blood work taken while they are healthy provides valuable information for comparison when they are ill.
